"...the customer care from beginning to end was faultless..."
"After careful consideration Mark and I decided to choose Exeter Laser Eye Surgery and are both absolutely thrilled with the results.
Exeter Eye Surgery were able to clearly explain the procedures, benefits and pitfalls of lasik eye surgery without jargon or using any of the hard sell "you'll be fine..." approach, usually accompanied with over exaggerated incentives. By the end of the free consultation session we both felt Exeter Eye Surgery provided a more balanced view, coupled with an excellent pre- and post-op after-care service.
I appreciated making an informed choice but was still incredibly nervous on the morning of the operation. However, the customer care from beginning to end was faultless. The nurse on duty was incredibly kind and caring. The operating staff were efficient and totally focused and Mr Quinn was reassuring with a gentle sense of humour, whilst carefully explaining each stage of the 20 minute operation, so that I felt my initial fears were unfounded.
The operation, true to form, was virtually painless. My eyes felt gritty for a couple of hours afterwards, which drops sorted.
The results are amazing, far better than anything I could ever have imagined! After 32 years of extreme short-sightedness, I now have perfect vision again not experienced since the age of 12! This in itself makes me feel younger, strange but true, as it brings back so many memories (of having sharper eyesight). From not being able to see an eye chart, at a distance, let alone any of the letters, I can now read some of the smallest print at the bottom! My night vision is also much better. Road signs were always difficult to decipher - not any more!
And it just isn't the same as wearing contact lenses. The world really is a brighter place. Everything seems more 'real' as if I've walked into the most beautiful painting. I still feel this 4 months on.
On a more practical note, Exeter Eye Surgery has also helped make my life easier by providing a sense of freedom and greater confidence. No more peering rather awkwardly at things, or scrabbling around for glasses in the middle of the night when the children call. I can now go places without having to consider taking my contact lenses, a feeling of travelling light and pure freedom - which I love!
It is a big decison to allow someone to mess around with your eyes. For this reason we wanted peace of mind to make sure we chose the best. We would encourage anyone who is considering eye surgery to choose Exeter Eye Surgery - I am very glad that we did! "

"...I was surprised at how easy and painless that first procedure was..."
"At 58-years of age, I thought that all I had to look forward to was years of increasing reliance on glasses and the restrictions that they can place on your enjoyment of life.
Having plucked up the courage to go ahead and have Lens Replacement Eye Surgery of both eyes, I was surprised at how easy and painless that first procedure was made for me. The world is now much brighter for me and I can enjoy it to the full without having to worry about glasses."

"...I was made to feel at ease from the start ... delighted with the results..."
"I would like to say thank you to you and your staff for your professionalism and care, from first meeting you at your rooms and throughout my laser treatment to after care.
My sister-in-law was very keen to have eye laser surgery and wanted someone to accompany her so we both came to your rooms together. I had been told about ten years before I could not have it done because my cornea was too thin, so I was delighted to be told I could.
The day care at the Nuffield was excellent and I was made to feel at ease from the start. The actual surgery did not take too long and after supper and a visit from Mr Quinn who gave me his home phone number (just in case I needed to talk to him) I was allowed home with an appointment for the following morning.
Both my sister-in-law and myself are delighted with the results, it's great not to have to wear contact lenses any more. Thank you.

"...it really HAS altered my whole life for the better!..."
"My Experience... You know those ghastly adverts on television for laser eye surgery?... the ones with cheesy women and super fit athletes who wake up and it's changed their lives?... yes you have seen them, so smug you want to poke them in their new eyes... WELL... I have to say... it's all totally TRUE! I really hate to agree with them, but it really HAS altered my whole life for the better!
Little bit of history here, my natural eyesight was appalling: specs at 5 years old (remember the national health ones with wire that wrapped round your poor ears and almost amputated them by bedtime?). Really, it was a wonder I EVER got any boyfriends, with glasses like cola bottle bottoms!... My glasses had, throughout my life, been run over, dropped over the side of a boat, sat upon, dropped into a pot of gloss paint, and STOLEN! Yes REALLY!
Contact lenses! I thought, good plan, once you get over having to stick your fingers in your eyes, crawling round on your hands and knees finding a lost one (stuck to the radiator, how did THAT happen?), occasionally forgetting and waking up the following morning with corn flakes in your eyes (technology has come a long way since then), and the best, forgetting how long you have soaked them and putting peroxide in your eye!... very attractive is that look.
Eventually, due to my eyes not allowing enough oxygen through, and lack of co-ordination, I bit the bullet and started the ball rolling for surgery. Being a devout coward, I was, to say the least, apprehensive... WELL, it's some bloke burning out your eyeball isn't it?... and don't you just hear all kinds of stories?....''my auntie sneezed and was blinded''... WHAT A LOAD OF TOTAL RUBBISH!...
I was treated with the upmost respect, like a person, not an impedement in the workings of a huge machine. EVERYTHING was explained to me, on my level, not spoken down to, so I understood everything about the whole procedure, and all questions answered honestly. Very refreshing.
My personal eye care wasn't entirely straightforward, which worried me at the time, but there was no need at all. I have both methods used on my eyes, the first one was so easy, the Lasik method. Really, it WAS a miracle... I could see by the time I returned to my bed, with minimal discomfort, and drops to combat that. I had a regime of drops to adhere to for a while, to regulate the healing process and to make the ultimate result more satisfactory. They didn't sting, and were easy to apply.
The second eye was slightly more problematical, being the Lasek way, a tad more complex. This one had an eye bandage on, which is rather akin to a thin contact lens, for three days. My sight was amazing, but I was glad to get the temporary bandage removed!. Again there was a regime of drops to use for a while, and if I remember rightly, I used paracetamol for a day or two, thats all.
Although I thought my sight was fantastic, it improved gradually over the next few weeks, with no pain, no problems and I still am amazed at the utter luxury of waking up and just LIVING... I am now the proud owner of 20/20 vision... there is no feeling to compare with good sight, and although I am eternally grateful for my glasses and contact lenses, I wish I had been brave enough to do this a long long time ago. Really, it HAS awarded me a new sense of freedom!
One word of caution though... I would recommend the personal touch offered at Exeter Laser Eye Surgery over anywhere else. You are a person, not part of a consumer-orientated company, just purchasing a service. Yes it costs a bob or two... but they all do. It is worth the extra care, and subsequent aftercare offered."

"...From my first phonecall... I felt that I was in safe hands... thorough, unrushed..."
"I had Lasik in both eyes on 18th July with Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons. I was looked after fantastically from the first appointment onwards, and I couldn't be more delighted with the result: to be able to see so clearly and easily without glasses or contact lenses feels like a miracle.
I've been considering laser eye surgery for about 10 years, but have been put off by the 'hard sell' approach of other providers. The first company I contacted bombarded me with letters and phonecalls for weeks afterwards - in fact they still are - and the second rang me on a Friday evening offering a one-chance-only £2000 discount on surgery in Bristol the following morning!
It was great to discover not only that the procedure was available in Exeter (other companies offer consultations in Exeter but you still have to travel to Bristol for the surgery) but also that not everyone treats your eyesight like a commodity. From my first phonecall to Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons, I felt that I was in safe hands.
The whole process, from initial consultation through to post-op check-ups, has been very calm, thorough, and unrushed - Mr. Quinn seemed to have all the time in the world to answer my questions. I felt fully informed at every stage - of the risks as well as of the benefits - and there was never even the slightest pressure to go ahead with the procedure.
I was very nervous on the day of the surgery, but the staff at the Nuffield put me at my ease and looked after me very well (the pre-op Valium also helped!). In the operating theatre itself, everything that was happening was explained to me, even down to the sounds the machines would make, and this also really helped me to stay calm. I felt that everyone in the theatre was absolutely focused on the success of the procedure and on my well-being.
It was also reassuring to have Mr Quinn's telephone number in case of any problems after discharge - I was encouraged to call at any time, day or night, if I was even remotely worried about anything.
The surgery itself was completely pain-free. My sight was slightly blurred and my eyes felt a bit gritty the first evening, but when I woke up the next morning there was no discomfort at all and I could see for what still seems like MILES. There have been some unexpected benefits too: people tell me that my eyes are brighter (no irritation from contact lenses?), my skin is smoother (no screwing my face up to try to see things?) and that even my posture is better (no leaning forward trying to peer into the blurry distance?).
One downside though - I haven't been getting much work done. Too busy just looking at things and going 'wow'. It's wonderful."

"...I felt completely informed & confident that I had chosen the right people..."
"Having laser eye surgery is one of the best things I have had done. It really has made a big difference, I hated wearing glasses but couldn't manage without them. I was really apprehensive about having it done and visited many different companies to look at having the procedure, but never felt confident enough with the company to have the procedure carried out.
I attended an open evening at the Nuffield Exeter where I had a free short consultation with consultant Tony Quinn. It seemed much more professional and I felt much more at ease. I booked in for a full consultation which made me decide to go ahead.
Throughout the whole process, from first meeting to having the surgery, I felt completely informed and confident that I had chosen the right people. The day of the operation I was quite apprehensive but was reassured and talked through every step.
The aftercare was amazing. I was seen several times and given Tony Quinn's number so I could ring if I had any problems when the office was closed. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of having it done to go along to an open evening. I highly recommend!!!""

"...The result has been stunning and I am extremely happy..."
"Was recommended this clinic by my optician as due to my line of work glasses would not be practicable. I rang up the same day and got an appointment that evening for a free consultation with Dr Quinn.
Dr Quinn was extremely friendly and thorough with his assessment. No question was deemed too trivial or ridiculous! All the stories I had been told about this procedure were misinformed as he explained the risks involved and the procedure in depth and I was happy to proceed. A week later I saw an opthalmist who double checked all the measurements previously taken by Dr Quinn then a few days after this I went to the Nuffield hospital to have my eyes mapped for the op, this took five minutes.
On the day of the op I arrived about two hours before my appointment and had a private room where I was visited by a lady with a menu for dinner after, a nurse to take my vitals and Dr Quinn to check in on me and sign some paperwork. Was then taken to the op room and the procedure took no more than ten minutes then back to my room for dinner and a visit by a pharmacist with the various eye drops to be taken in the following weeks. After an hour or so Dr Quinn checked my eye and I was allowed to leave.
I suffered only mild discomfort for about half a day and a mild haematoma (which disappeared after two weeks) and in fact three hours after the procedure I was sat in the cinema enjoying a film! I had a follow up appointment a day later to check everything was OK and then two weeks, a month and finally six months later.
The result has been stunning and I am extremely happy. The clinic and Dr Quinn have been efficient, friendly and extremely professional throughout. To be seen by and operated on by the same Doctor throughout was an inspired turn and very reassuring. I cannot recommend them highly enough."

"...great not to have raindrops on the glasses when it rains..."
"After wearing glasses for over 30 years I was so pleased to hear from a friend that you could now have laser eye surgery in Exeter. I went to the open evening which is a great idea as you have the chance to meet the surgeons and have a mini consultation to see if you are suitable for the surgery. Tony Quinn was very reassuring and gave me the confidence to know that he would only proceed if all the tests were good and that there was no pressure selling, I could make up my own mind in my own time.
The laser eye surgery was performed in the Nuffield Hospital which was very clean and of a high standard. The follow-up checks by Tony Quinn were thorough and very reassuring, I felt in safe hands all through the process from beginning to end. It was great to only have to travel to Exeter for all the checks both before and after surgery.
The best thing now is not having to wear glasses for driving - you can see so much more! It is also great not to have raindrops on the glasses when it rains, to not have to wear glasses to watch TV and the sheer feeling of freedom - brilliant! I would recommend anyone wanting to have laser eye surgery to visit Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons."

"...standards of care ... has exceeded my expectations..."
"Having worn glasses and lenses for over 30 years, putting up with the continual discomfort and inconvenience, I saw an advert a few years ago for laser eye surgery with a national company. I went along for a consultation and left feeling very unsure as to whether to proceed. My concerns were around the standard of care and follow up. I felt as though I was just another patient on a conveyor belt, having to make several long journeys for consultations, treatment and follow up appointments. I therefore did not proceed down that avenue.
A few months ago I heard that Dr Tony Quinn, Consultant Ophthalmologist, was setting up a service in Exeter. This immediately gave me confidence that an eye specialist, in Exeter, could provide me with the treatment I needed. The standards of care from the initial consultation, the actual treatment itself and subsequent follow up, has exceeded my expectations.
My life has now been totally transformed. I can see the leaves on the trees. When I have to get up in the middle of the night to see to the children, I do not have to grope around for my revolting glasses any more. When the wind blows I am not panicked by dust irritating my lenses and my eyes no longer feel sore and gritty at the end of the day. I am truly grateful to Dr Quinn and his team for this amazing change to my life."

"...without the use of a knife (my biggest fear)..."
"As a glasses wearer for over 20 years (for short-sightedness) I had been considering laser eye surgery for a very long time, but had been put off by the thought of the procedure and the distance involved travelling to my nearest reputable clinic, especially bearing in mind the number of visits that would be required.
When I became aware of Exeter Laser Eye surgeons (much closer for me) I investigated further and decided to attend one of their free information open evenings. This was presented by the actual eye surgeons and was very informative. It became apparent that the procedure could be carried out entirely by laser without the use of a knife (my biggest fear).
Once I decided to go ahead there followed a series of further visits to take exact eye measurements and discuss my general health. During these consultations we discussed an existing long term health problem from which I suffer (Alport Syndrome) and any impact this may have on my suitability to have laser treatment. Because Alport Syndrome can affect the eyes Mr. Quinn went to great lengths to ensure that it was safe to proceed by liaising with specialist colleagues who had carried out the surgery on others with my condition.
This was very reassuring for me. It was also explained to me that if I had both eyes corrected for perfect long distance vision I would then need reading glasses due to my age. Because of the nature of my work I was keen to avoid this so Mr. Quinn suggested that he corrected one eye for perfect long distance vision and only partially corrected the other eye leaving it mildly short sighted. I found this concept hard to comprehend but I was assured that after a period of acclimatization the brain would cope with this, so with slight trepidation I decided to go down this route.
The procedure was over very quickly and my main memory was of Mr.Quinn asking me the time just minutes after completion. Without even thinking I looked up at the clock and told him the time. Prior to surgery I would have struggled to even see the clock never mind tell the time!
It then took a couple of months for me to get used to the slight differences between my two eyes and I was quite aware that one eye was working better at long distance and the other at short distance. At subsequent reviews with Mr. Quinn he still assured me that given time my brain would sort this out and I'm pleased to say he was quite correct as I rarely notice this now, just occasionally at short distance in poor light.
I no longer need to wear glasses to do anything, I can read a newspaper close-up and see clearly into the distance for most purposes. I have however chosen to wear glasses just for driving as whilst I am perfectly legal without I just feel these give me a slight extra edge. I did suffer from mild dry-eye irritation for a considerable period of time which varied considerably from day to day, but now six months on it has almost entirely gone.
In summary I am delighted with the outcome and with the helpfulness and professionalism of Mr. Quinn and his team throughout the whole process. I have now been signed off by Mr. Quinn but he has made it clear that he is available for help and advice should I ever need it in the future ."

"...I wish I’d had the refractive lens surgery years ago..."
"I’ve had myopia and astigmatism since I was 11 and have always worn glasses or contact lenses. It’s wonderful to be able to see everything clearly, but being able to see the moment I open my eyes in the morning, without having to put on glasses first, is still something of a thrill - I wish I’d had the refractive lens surgery years ago. Mr Byles’ expertise and manner made the whole experience one I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone."

"...discovered the cataracts ... I have been delighted with the results..."
"I originally went to Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons to investigate the possibility of laser surgery. The initial information session (which was free) was very informative and the follow up appointments were all with the surgeon, who explained all the options to me very clearly, with the associated risks and benefits. He discovered the cataracts and explained that consequently laser surgery was not appropriate.
I felt well informed throughout and able to weigh up the options. The cataract operations themselves went very well, all the people involved were excellent and I have been delighted with the results. One of the real plus points for going to this surgery for me was that I was seen at all times by the surgeon who did the operation."

"...joy to be able to see everything clearly - driving, golf, the countryside..."
Having worn glasses and then contact lenses for over 50 years it is a joy to be able to see everything clearly - driving, golf, the countryside - without lenses. All thanks to my refractive lens surgery by Mr. Byles. It was all so easy and painless. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

"... replacement lenses ... has enhanced my life..."
"I am so pleased that Mr Quinn was able to operate on both eyes, with replacement lenses. This has enhanced my life, I no longer have to fuss about glasses for everyday use. The operation was a complete success and its really reassuring that I will have this perfect sight for the rest of my life.
I can highly recommend to anyone whose eyes are suitable for this surgery. Mr Quinn looked after me in a very reassuring way, which was much appreciated."

"...The aftercare is great and at all times I have felt safe..."
"I decided to have surgery when I was 40 and booked an appointment in Bristol, but at the last minute I backed out as I was too scared. Ten years later when I was approaching 50 I saw an advert for a free consultation at the Nuffield and thought if I don't do it now I never will. I told my husband that this was what I wanted for for 50th birthday and went ahead and booked the consultation.
Mr Quinn didn't rush me and told me to go back to my optician and try a different prescription with my contact lenses to see how I got on with it. He said to try one with the distance I need and the other left slightly short sighted. I tried this and found it worked very well as I could see in the distance and could also see to read without glasses.
On the day of my surgery I was absolutely terrified but Mr Quinn reassured me that I would be fine and prescibed a valium to calm my nerves. This worked extremely well and afterwards I wondered what on earth I had been so frightened of as really there was nothing to it. The most uncomfortable thing was the contraption they used to hold my eyes open. It didn't hurt but just felt strange.
It was over in a matter of minutes and I could see perfectly straight away. After the eye drops wore off it was a bit uncomfortable for a while and my eyes wouldn't stop watering which meant that I had to keep my eyes closed. I spoke to Mr Quinn and he gave me some more drops which sorted it. I went home when Mr Quinn felt that I was ready and went to bed as I felt really tired. The next morning I woke up and felt fine. For a few weeks my eyes were very dry but the drops I was given helped that.
The aftercare is great and at all times I have felt safe in the knowledge that if anything did go wrong they were practically on my doorstep and only a phone call away. I cannot fault the service and the kindness I was shown both by the staff and Anthony Quinn. He is a very kind and approachable consultant.
Thank you so much - you don't know what this has meant to me, you have changed my life. "

"...refractive surgery ... Freedom at last!..."
"I had worn contact lenses for over thirty years, and was very long sighted. I asked my optician if there was any surgery possible to correct my vision. He suggested I contact Tony Quinn at Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons. I made an appointment, and the first consultation was free.
Mr Quinn thoroughly examined my eyes, and said it was possible to carry out refractive surgery. He explained the procedure in full and answered all my questions in language I could understand. This was great news, and I was then given dates for the surgery at the Exeter Nuffield. My left eye was operated on first, and my right eye ten days later.
The procedure took about 15 mins, and during this time I was only aware of a sensation that something was happening. There was no pain or discomfort at the time as the eye was anaesthetised. Following the surgery, there was a little discomfort for a few hours, and by the morning everything felt fine. On leaving the hospital, I was given instructions about do's and don'ts, and was given eye drops to use initially four times a day, reducing over a six week period. However, after my second post op check up, Mr Quinn said I could stop drops for my left eye, and reduce the frequency for my right eye. This meant I stopped the drops up to two weeks early.
I am very pleased with the results. I go on holiday shortly, and don't have to worry about spare lenses, spare solution, swimming etc. Freedom at last! I would thoroughly recommend this procedure. The staff I dealt with were very professional, and Mr Quinn was both extremely approachable and friendly."

"...cataract surgery in both eyes... brilliantly performed and very successful..."
"I had cataract surgery in both eyes which was brilliantly performed and very successful. I was very nervous before surgery but Mr Byles was extremely reassuring throughout and everything was explained in detail. Great care to prevent infection and good follow up was offered throughout. I would recommend the surgeons to any nervous patient. I can see parts of my surroundings that I did not know existed before the surgery, including wrinkles and cobwebs, all a revelation!"
- Mrs Mary Fletcher
"...replacement lens in my left eye... completely painless... Glasses free!!... "
"I am writing to say a big thank you to you and all your team for giving myself and my husband Alan, back good enough sight that we don't have to either wear glasses all the time as he did, or in my case, have them hanging around my neck ready to read close-up. I had my operation in August this year and had a replacement lens in my left eye. I have not worn glasses at all since. Alan had lenses in both eyes and only needs glasses to read, or in poor light. He does a lot of clay pigeon shooting and does not wear them at all for this now.
The length of time the actual op took was about 11 mins. Amazing! We were awake the whole of the time. The procedure was completely painless and the team very reassuring and professional. We both had cataracts removed, myself one eye, Alan both. We had to apply drops for one month afterwards, nothing else. The recovery time was very quick. I could see better the very next day. I would highly recommend this op to anyone. We went back to Mr Quinn one month later for a check up and eye test, and neither of us experienced any problems.
It has given both of us such a better quality of life. Glasses free!! Thank you so much."
- Alan and Margaret Muir
"...cataracts removed at the same time as having lens implants... "
"After wearing glasses or contact lenses for more than 50 years, and then attending the free open evening, there was no turning back and I have not regretted my decision for one second. I had cataracts removed at the same time as having lens implants and the operation and aftercare could not be faulted.
Mr Quinn answered all my questions in a way that was easily understood and allayed all (as it turned out unnecessary) fears. My vision for reading, driving and everyday living is so much clearer than when wearing glasses that I can't thank Mr Quinn and his team enough."
- Maureen Deville
"...No praise can be too high... superb surgery, could not have been better..."
"I have just undergone, within the space of three weeks, double cataract operations. It has been my great good fortune to have had this surgery undertaken by Mr Anthony Quinn. No praise can be too high. I was treated with the utmost respect and care from the moment I first walked into his consulting rooms and thereafter the attention to detail, the relaxed care and superb surgery, could not have been better.
Needless to say both operations have been a complete success and the improvement to my sight quite startling. Never hesitate to have cataract surgery and if you are able to have the work undertaken by Anthony Quinn then seize the opportunity."
- David Harris
"...following the surgery I could already see distant objects clearly..."
"I was very pleased with the results of my laser eye surgery. I had a combination of short-sightedness and astigmatism and had been unable to find a contact lens prescription that gave me the quality of sight I wanted. Mr Quinn suggested that I had surgery on just one eye, leaving the other with short sight to delay the need for reading glasses.
The improvement in my sight was immediate. By the time I got back to my hospital room following the surgery I could already see distant objects clearly and within a day or two my eyesight was pretty much perfect. I now have 30/20 vision and can see better than I ever could wearing glasses or contacts. With two small children I was forever wiping sticky finger marks off my glasses and it's great to have got rid of them for good."

"...Every step of the way... nothing was too much trouble..."
"I firstly went along to The Nuffield as they had a talk on Laser Eye Surgery. It did not sound as bad as I had in my mind, next went for a consulation with Daniel Byles, had various tests and checks and was told I would be suitable for the surgery. So booked in and had it done about 6 weeks later.
I decided on the Lasek, went in the day before to have final checks then the surgery the following morning. As soon as I arrived on the day was immediately made to feel at ease, ask any questions, nothing was to much trouble and I asked quite a lot of questions!!! Had a little relaxation tablet then went in for the procedure, did not feel anything uncomfortable at all, Daniel talked me through what was happening felt totally at ease.
Procedure took about 30 Mins and then back to my room, had some more local anaesthetic to take some stinging away and an hour later I was on my way home.. For about 4 days my eyes felt like I had sand in them and then day by day it just got better. I did not drive for 1 week as I felt my eyes were not clear enough. It took a little longer than I thought to get perfect vision, I would say by 3 weeks my eyes were perfect, I continued to put drops in for about 7 weeks until I had my final check-up, which was fine, and I am so happy I had it done.
I had worn glasses for over 20 years and I so wish I had it done years ago. Every step of the way from the first consulation to the last one, Daniel was just to fantastic nothing was too much trouble I asked lots of question and sent lots of emails when I thought of something else I wanted an answer to, and never did I feel I was being a pain. Also after the surgery you are given his mobile number so if you are at all worried or concerned you can ring him anytime, which I did 3 times in 1 day!!! Sorry Daniel...
Take the jump and have it done, I have never looked back and love that I can wear normal Rayban Sunglasses... yippee!"

"...After being very badly shortsighted for so long it was almost magical... "
"I had my first eye surgery in January 2012 on my right eye and it was absolutely fine and less uncomfortable than I thought it may be. I went home after a welcoming cup of coffee and I could see the dials in the car straight away. I had a follow up check and was overjoyed to learn that my eye had such good vision that reading was virtually perfect. After being very badly shortsighted for so long it was almost magical to be able to see clearly without glasses and contact lenses after thirty-five years.
The left eye was had surgery in February and I had no worries at all as I knew I was going to be in safe hands and my vision would be even more improved to give me a brighter and more comfortable future with so much more freedom. Thank you so much, I am so happy."
- Sally-Ann Perowne (had Refractive Lens Exchange)
"...read most of the bottom line on the eye chart... well worth the extra..."
"I had laser surgery with Mr Quinn 10 months ago and am very happy with the results. The whole way through I always saw the same surgeon and was very impressed by the professionalism displayed by him and his team.
The operation was as expected and went well, I was made to feel at ease and I knew my eyes were in good hands. Throughout the procedure every step was explained which helped keep me calm and after just 30 minutes it was over. There was some pain when I woke an hour after in my room, which was immediately relieved by one of the nurses with a cream. Apart from the usual course of eye drops no other pain relief was needed.
Even just one day after surgery I was seeing well and looking around at the world for what felt like the first time. Was so good to not see the outline of my glasses when looking at the edge of my vision. There were some halos at night but not overpowering so night driving was absolutely fine. These went after a few weeks and there were no other side effects. After one week I could read most of the bottom line on the eye chart which is the limit of human ability. I am so pleased I decided to have it done and it's made a big difference to my life.
It was more expensive than some of the Bristol based clinics but was well worth the extra to be able to see the same surgeon and avoid paying for travel from Exeter to Bristol for every appointment. I was able to get a 10 month loan through Nuffield hospital and don't have to pay any interest.
If anyone is considering it I would urge them to go ahead and get it done. I'd thought about it for so long and from the first evening presentation at Nuffield I knew I wanted it performed there. Now after 10 months everything is still perfect and my vision is better than ever."
