Ocular Technician

Chantal joined the team here at Admiral House in 2014 having worked in Ophthalmology since 1997 at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

She has over 20 years’ experience within Ophthalmology having originally worked as a specialist Cataract technician and subsequently trained and qualified as a Retinal screener / grader based at The Macleod Diabetes and Endocrine centre. In 2012 she was chosen as a Consultant grader for the National Screening programme whilst undertaking the role of Programme lead for the North, East and Mid Devon screening programme.

Chantal works alongside Mr Quinn, Mr Byles and Mr Smith here at Admiral House undertaking pre and post-operative assessments for Laser, Cataract and Refractive lens surgery. Her role includes glaucoma monitoring, performing OCT (optical coherence tomography), and has responsibility for our ongoing audit programme.
